Elder Kilton arrived at his first mission assignment.  A sweet sister, Michelle Moore, sent me a text with a video and a couple of pics.  We are so excited to get his email on Monday, but until then, enjoy this brief teaser.  We have heard 3rd hand that the visas have been approved and the transfer to Sweden should happen in three to six weeks.  New addresses to come soon.

ps  His companion is Elder Amosa from West Jordan, UT.  He has been out 8 months.  Trace's "dad" for training!  Look how big this kid is!  I love it.  Hope to meet his family soon.

Each week since Aldste Kilton has been in the MTC we have met someone from Sweden. They are so nice and excited to hear that our son is going there. They always have great tips on coats and gloves to buy and places to visit. I'm falling in love with the Swedes and I haven't even been there yet! Here is his blog post this week.

Hey Ni,
Well my last P-day in the MTC has Arrived! I am so excited to go to
Sweden. I grow more and more excited as the days go by. all us
missionaries got pranked by our travel leader Elder Adcox. on our
plans it says we fly back to New York after a month in Sweden. He said
this was what we really were doing and that we would be here for at
least a transfer cycle we had some extreme emotions with my disrict.
Some were pumped and some were very crestfallen. then as the day we on
we discovered that he was pulling our leg we laughed and realized that
Swedish law dictates that we must have a return flight planned even if
we don't take it. so that was cool. lots of ups this week. we learned
about Swedish holidays like the Giant goat in Gavle. and Jul
(Christmas) its a three day party that everyone is off work. And
others. We kind of wrestled here in the MTC i should be more careful
but i went up against Elder lloyd and he ways 100 pounds more than me
sooo.... that was fun. this is all crazy here i am packing all this
week. getting my suites dry cleaned well one at least. i dont know how
much more i have to say this week. im sorry its not longer.  the
Savior loves us and helps us.
Watch and Pray!

Aldste Kilton has reached his halfway point at the MTC.  He's been there 3 weeks and has 3 weeks left.  He will leave on October 27th headed for Stockholm.  Thank you to those who have sent physical letters and packages.  (Notice addresses on the left hand column of this home page.)  It means so much to touch something from "home".  He loved being in the MTC for conference.  He and all the other missionaries were so touched by Elder Holland's talk, of course.  He said,

"GeneralKonference was the Bomb! i loved Hollands
talk as well that night you could here all the missionaries writing
their mothers letters because of it the dorm was silent for a good 15
minutes while we wrote. The Entire Floor!"

Here is his blog post for this week.  As always, I have not edited in any way.

Hey Ni,
Well crazy week this week here at the MTC. it feels like i was writing
to you all yesterday. i wanted to let you all know sorry but i have
the best mom in the whole world. I also Want to thank some very
special people for sending me a care package. My family and the
Gasdik's (i think thats how its spelled?) Sorry if its wrong. General
Konference was awesome! Also Sunday night Vocal Point came and sang to
us missionaries and shared their testimonies. The Coolest thing ever!
i love their rendition of Nearer My God to Thee. (look it up). I have
had an awesome week really. some downs but mostly ups. I love
receiving Letters and hope those you send me them get their replies
soon. its is a treasure to get a physical letter or package! We play
volleyball in the gym in the mornings its so much fun. i hope i am a
pro by the end of my 6 weeks here. By the Way I am Half way done with
my MTC Stay. Wow! the time has Flown by here. It feels like yesterday
i was walking away from my family in the rain! there is an Elder
Erickson here who does amazing impersonations! i say this for my
cousins /Brother. He does the Arbiter (Halo) perfectly i almost hugged
him after he spoke. ok back to the Rest of you. You want to know the
coolest thing? Missionaries are normal guys! im not totally out of my
depth with being one. I think ill finish with my testimony in english.
I know my Father Lives. I know that His Son is my savior and redeemer.
I know it is by His mercy and Light we are led to Eternal Life and
Happiness. I look forward the Time when he Welcomes me with open arms
no matter what i have done. where he hugs me and tells me he loves me
even though i am not perfect. He lives. He is the Light and Life of
the World. He has called a Prophet in this time to lead us. I say this
in the name of my Savior Jesus Christ Amen.
